For all the poll-loving GOP
Amid an escalating series of legal woes, former President Donald Trump has seen his support amongst Republican voters drop significantly, according to a recent poll.

The poll, conducted in a collaboration between ABC News and The Washington Post, was released on Sunday and showed a steep decline in popularity for Trump now, compared to the support he had in 2020 when he secured the GOP nomination for reelection.

According to the poll, which has a margin of error of 3.5 percent, 47 percent of Republican and conservative-leaning independent respondents said that they support Trump as the prospective party nominee in 2024, while 46 percent oppose the idea. This, ABC News said, represents a 20 percent drop in support from 2020.

Many of my republican friends only supported him because he got the nomination. They would have supported whoever the GOP candidate was. My dad, a lifelong conservative, became a never-Trumper. My perception is that those who love him are a small but very vocal minority.

You assume every Orange voter is an open Orange supporter?
That’s rich . Lol

@AthrillatheHunt Yes. 100%. Complicity confirmed.

You can't pick and choose from a tyrant's playbook. We don't say, yeah, Hitlers killed all those people, but he did build all those bridges.

If you support Trump, who doesn't even hold a public office, you support everything he stands for, part and parcel.

@Graylight I meant that w the hostility towards him that many would be Orange voters will not publicly confirm they will vote for him .

We have to remember that, for whatever reason, polls are rarely accurate when it comes to Trump.
I told you it was only 11% who truly support him. The rest of them are bah humbug. 😉

I prefer the polls among eligible voters that give Biden a 60% disapproval rating and only a 35% approval rating. That kind of poll seems to more accurately reflect the number of moderate democrats he has offended with his policy and attempts to blame everything on the former president.

Your politics has blinded you. My b opinion. 😔
Let another 9/11 happen again or a nuclear bomb detonated in Europe or Asia. Then your politics will mean nothing .
@Montanaman No, that's when politics DOES mean something.

GWB was presented with a knee-jerk reaction, the PATRIOT Act, which was a huge power grab and continues to hurt our privacy each day. It was so big and pushed as "we need this to fight terrorists" that Congress voted for it & many admitted they had not read it.

@SomeMichGuy But has another attack on our country happened in the 22 years since? NO!
thank you.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Montanaman This was my point. That polls are useless measures and have no value in this arena.

So giving up freedom is necessary to the security of this nation? Huh. There's a hint of fascism in the air.

I know quite a few who supported him on the abortion issue alone. Now that they got what they wanted, I am curious to see if that support changes.
