If Trump wins the GOP nomination again, who is his VP?

My guesses - DeSantis, Marjorie Taylor Greene, or long shot John Rocker.

Let's see--Jeffrey Epstein is dead, Ghislane Maxwell is in prison, Ted Bundy is dead. Maybe Matt Gaetz or Lauren Boebert or MTG.

I think the rich and powerful have had enough of Trump. I suspect it will be Mitt Romney. He's evil but more mainstream and he will obey, which Trump is too mentally-ill to do. I just hope Biden understands he can't be reelected and gets out of the way.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@OggggO Back when having your pants constantly catch fire actually lost you elections.
@OggggO I think it wasn't so much the amount of lying Romney did; rather that he was so very bad at lying.

Romney basically invented Obamacare when Romney was governor of Massachusetts. And the lie Romney had to keep repeating was that Obamacare was a lousy idea. But Romney knew in his heart that Obamacare was not only a great idea, it was ROMNEY'S great idea!

So it was palpably painful for Romney to repeat that lie.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@ElwoodBlues No, it was also the amount. I was on a politics forum back then, and a frequent topic of discussion was the sheer volume of his lies, often about things he didn't even need to lie about, pointless, trivial things. It was a lot tamer than Trump's grandiose bullshittery, but it was still shocking how much of it he did.

The two things Trump values the most in those around him his the loyalty & short leash, and what he loves to do in campaigning is the truly audacious and outlandish gesture. So why not Kevin McCarthy who immediately rolled over and heeled after first criticizing Jan 6, which he then can ballyhoo as bringing Florida and California together, healing the nation coast to coast, as if McCarthy represents anything but a small sliver of the ever-shrinking Republican Party in California?
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
DeSantis and Trump cannot be on the same ticket for President/VP, unless Trump returns to NYC and says he was just on an extended leave of absence in Florida -- after all, how could he be living there when the city has been trying to oust him since he got there since the Mar-a-Lago is not zoned nor licensed for fulltime residents. Worked for Bush/Cheney -- waived a magic wand and Cheney had never left Wyoming; ran Halliburton out of his ranch with no WiFi, no cellphone coverage, no links to the outside world. The strict constructionists can be the first to overlook little things like the Constitution itself.

@smiler2012 One can only hope ! 🤞🏽

I think his liability is finally to the point he won’t get nominated and DeSantis is probably going to replace him. But if it did happen, Qualifications for the VP are not even evaluated, it would likely be MTG or Boebert, maybe even someone that works as a housekeeper or a bartender or other job at Mar-A-Lago.
PassingThrough · 46-50, M
Greene wouldn’t surprise me. She would have overturned the votes to keep him in power without hesitation. He needs the biggest wackadoos possible and she’s definitely out there in left field playing baseball with a hockey stick
MissPerfect · 22-25, F
I don't think Trump will win. Why would they want that embarrassing con man three times in a row, and why would they choose someone that can now only serve one more term?

I think you mean "running-mate" No way is he becoming president again. However, if DeSantis gets the GOP nomination, would you bet against DJT as his running mate..?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Liz Cheney. She is looking for a new Gig and she will get Daddy to take Donny Hunting..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman We can only hope!

I'm not sure DeSantis needs to be VP with all the flack that will be flying at first. He should continue kicking ass in Florida and then have Trump's rally support after the next midterms to get the ball rolling for him.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@TexChik Kicking ass? The dude barely won in 2018, against a Democrat with a list of issues.
TexChik · F
@trollslayer And he has been defeating liberal attempts to defile his state like they have many others, and been successful in turning a red state Bright Red.
I think DeSantis would be too threatening to Trump; DeSantis is smart and energetic and ambitious; those traits don't add up to the extreme loyalty Trump demands.

MTG, with her "Jewish space lasers" and "defund the FBI" is problematic too. Trump thinks he has a great nose for popularity, and MTG might not meet the smell test.

I think Trump will find some super loyal politician with no national reputation that we've never heard of.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Fauxmyope2 Trump didn't carry NY in either 2016 or 2020. I am not a Stefanik fan, only pointing out that she is positioning herself for the job by jettisoning her moral code.
@windinhishair @Fauxmyope2 On further thought, Trump's super loyal politician with no national reputation should probably come from a southern state; Texas would work well.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues Louie Gohmert is a Texas Republican House member and election denier who is dumb enough to run with Trump. He once asked in the House Natural Resources Committee if we could change the moon's orbit around the earth to mitigate climate change, and wanted to arm teachers after Sandy Hook. He is as racist as they come and voted against making lynching a hate crime.

To win this extreme climate, he needs a female V.P., i concur. Maybe South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem?
@Slade idk, things are so feminine today, where is the balance? We need a proper ph balance or things become acidic, like Brandon.
Slade · 56-60, M
@checkoutanytime Brandon went for the acidic balance....

It's going to come down to how hard they try to attack during the primary. I think DeSantis is hungry enough to piss Trump off and get himself ruled out.
