$1 Trillion Record for Corporate Stock By-Backs

This year corporations are set to spend a record $1 trillion on stock buy-backs to enrich their CEOs and shareholders. Companies used to spend money on employee raises. Then stock buy-backs were legalized in the 1980's. We need to restore the New Deal-era controls on the financial industry.
Got to love Saint Ray Gun. Legalizing corruption so corporations can turn the economy into a casino for billionaires.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I always found Ronnie Raygun to be definitely UN-lovable. I'll never forget when Reagan called seniors on Medicare "A faceless mass waiting for handouts."
@badminton Reagan, Thatcher and their descendants see anyone not making money for oligarchs as dead weight.

@badminton Reagan and Alex Jones seem to have similar memory problems as well.

Anything that sets at least some control on corporations I am all for it. This unlimited profit is just plain immoral. It's why the top one percent make more money than the bottom ninety percent combined.

And it's not just that ... pharma companies in particular used to spend money on R&D, now it's all M&A, marketing and raising the price of insulin just 'cos.
