Well you know historically if the colonies hadn't of driven the british out it's doubtful the crown in england would have given up as much power as it ultimately did and become a largely symbolic form of power, albeit I do know that despite the tendency here in the united states to oogle the royal family a lot of people over in the uk hate having to pay taxes towards them.
they play a pretty much ceremonial role in british politics now though.
I say all this because I found it out largely because I think parlimentary systems are superior to bicameral congress to a huge extent. The us balance of powers is broken,, and in a polarizing country like ours has become even more so.

@BetweenKittensandRiots For some strange reason, so many British people love the royals!

@helenS I am pretty jealous of british people these days because of the british parliament. mind you they'd tell me its not that great and in many ways the tories are more dangerous than the republicans because their non religious conservatism just rubs people as more reasonable since jesus doesn't cloud the picture ike with our repubican party but I notice things like the way the repubicans would love to usher in no minimum wage at all while the tories raise theres.
seems like to a huge extent too that almost everyone is brought up under the traditonal debate club rules so they know rhetorical arguments and their weaknesses and ways to refute them.
Basically almost everyone is encouraged to weigh in and have an opinion as well as be able to argue so even the dumbest of british society tend to be a little bit smarter than ours.
and our republican party is so much worse than the tories...
Who I've heard envy them and wish they could get away with that stuff but still they can't because of the realities of british politics.
TBH if I were british would most likely join the labour party but be part of it's left flank. No Tony Blair.
but Terribly honestly I still feel even their right wing parties are stars and bars better than ours.

@BetweenKittensandRiots No no, an alliance of religious simpletons and right-wing radicals is the most dangerous thing on the planet. Everywhere, be it in Poland, or Iran, or America.

If it weren't for brits and their tyranny, there wouldn't be the freedoms Americans enjoy. Thank you.

I actually have 4 different teas I’m sipping on now!
Black Tea
Cinnamon Spice Herbal
Chai Black
Pomegranate, Blueberry & Acai
Recently finished away some Anise.
I will agree though
This gives my palate a break.

lol, they are overrun by Mexicans or everyone south of the border 🥳
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@Khenpal1 that land was Mexico originally and was stolen in a war of aggression against a country who just got independence after a costly war with an empire.
Khenpal1 · M
@basilfawlty89 Its history, they emigrate due to poverty and corruption.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
And as a gift to you, the country from which we declared our independence, here's a fun map.
