Prove to me that Trump did not commit treason!

@badminton He was subpoenaed...........and refused. That is why 1000 others of his own...including family....are testifying against him. If you listen to the panel swear in witnesses part of it says "under penalty of perjury...do you swear.....". That is why Trump won't testify and never has on any of his charges. In Florida sitting on his fat ass he can lie until he glows bright orange and nothing happens to him. But under oath...........if he lies it's perjury. So the lies cannot be told under oath. He thinks he can beat prosecution for this if he keeps lying on TV and at rallies..........but lying under oath...he can't do.........or else he goes to jail for that. Since Trump cannot speak without lying.......he simply refuses to testify.

@badminton No legal team of trump's will ever allow him to testify under oath. Count the number of times he's been accused of being dirty in one scandal or another and he's never testified yet. Whether this is a personality trait or simply how trump has always deal with anything he faced as a way to get out of it......trump is incapable of telling the truth about anything.

His legal teams...and there has been many of them...have all known that and blocked subpoenas for him. If you recall the term ""perjury trap"...that was said multiple times during his presidency when he was asked to give statements.....that literally means his own lawyers know well and completely understand that trump cannot possibly be allowed to testify about anything because when sworn in he cannot lie under penalty of perjury........and his legal teams are positive he cannot give any statement without lying. So the term was coined "perjury trap" to mean if you make him testify you are swearing him knowing he can't stop from perjuring himself under oath...so it's a "trap" to swear him in.

@anythingoes477 White House Counsel Don McGahn literally begged Robert Mueller not to depose Trump in person, because as he said, "Trump is incapable of telling the truth." He was allowed to provide written statements that someone else with a legal background wrote for him.

@MistyCee You may well be right but the voters don't get to decide to prosecute, that would be up the Georgia DOJ to decide if they want to prosecute him, which hopefully they do. I agree it's unlikely to happen but one can always hope!

@spjennifer I hope so too, but figuring out whether they can get jurors/voters to agree with the facts they present is part of the prosecutors' calculus in deciding to charge, in addition to getting a grand jury to indict.

@MistyCee Maybe if Jim Jordan and Matt Gaetz and others who asked for pardons were charged with conspiracy and removed from office post haste it would set an example for the GOP and Republican voters in the future.
