No, you probably just think being pro Palestine is the same thing.
Funny how Republicans are so eager to say Fuck Ukraine but if anyone dare say Fuck Israel, look out.

Definitely not.
May 15, 1948 is the day that present day Israel was established on land that had been inhabited by Palestinians.
Perhaps it would be like Native Americans commemorating the anniversary of the "Trail of Tears" when they were moved off their land ?
That might be called "anti-American", but most would understand that’s it’s a bit more complicated than that.
@SW-User The Natives have been treated horribly. The RCMP and the Church supervised Burn Days at the Native Institutions.

@SW-User
They may say they are being cautious considering how they were removed by the Arab land.
Arabs removed Israelites prior to 1948? When? How?

There a huge hole in the idea...
There are eleven annual U.S. federal holidays on the calendar designated by the United States Congress. Unlike many other countries, there are no “national holidays” in the United States because Congress only has constitutional authority to create holidays for federal institutions. Most federal holidays are also observed as state holidays.
Since there are no “national holidays” in the United States how can they "recognize" any either, foreign or not?

I believe individual states do. Yet not the whole country. I know of one my state does "recognize", Cinco de Mayo. Yet no others. Even that is not exactly a state holiday. Just recognized.

@DeWayfarer Though I am not in favor of Nakba day, I wouldn't be surprised if she manage to get it on the list.

@SW-User I don't see how since they can't even have national holidays for the whole country. It's state based. It's just happens all states have the same eleven holidays on their own. Yet even then not everyone gets those.

I don't know how many jobs I had that refused to give the 4th of July as a paid holiday. Yet I do know I never got it off.
@DeWayfarer ah Education! good on ya!

I mean, considering just how much money the US government gives to Israel, and particularly their military, it would be pretty hypocritical for Congress to pass a bill like this.

Don't get me wrong, I feel for Palestinians and have no doubt that the Israeli government are the bad guys in this scenario, it's just that this is a performative gesture that accomplishes nothing while we keep arming the heartless a-holes promoting this sentiment.

how about we strap her to a B83 Thermonuclear Bomb and drop it on Mecca on the 4th of July instead? 🤔

Israel is the best thing to happen to the Middle East in the last 1000 years.
Not okay. Celebrate it all you want, but don't force it on me.
