I think so, and I'm not quite sure why war crimes and genocide can't prompt some immediate and decisive action.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@RodionRomanovitch Thanks for the links.
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@basilfawlty89 The ICJ is part of the UN.

It's the ICC they don't recognise , but that still doesn't prevent them from making a case. If in the future there is a change of leadership in Russia it's not inconceivable that Putin could be handed over to stand trial.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@RodionRomanovitch and with Lavrov (the epitome of a Soviet-era flunkey) sitting next to him in court
He sent his country back to pre-Glasnost days. Divorced from the world. Food Lines, rationing, etc.

What he’s done in Ukraine is definitely criminal.

He’s now an international pariah until he dies.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@JonLosAngeles66 But he's still in charge and rich. :( I don;t think he cares about his fellow Russians, at least not the masses of them.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@JonLosAngeles66 The Fox News commies and the Orange lunatic love him.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Sadly, a "war criminal" is only defined by the winner of a war as an epithet used about the losers. :(
Graylight · 51-55, F
@ChipmunkErnie No, war crimes are understood by everyone. It's the enforcement of the rules where the trouble lays.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Graylight If you say so -- doesn't seem to actually work in real life though. People seem able to justify pretty much anything when they want to.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@ChipmunkErnie
guilty of war crimes by one court
A court (actually, a tribunal) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia... a political stunt by a former Prime Minister
spjennifer · 56-60, T
There is little doubt that he is a "War Criminal" as he has illegally invaded a Sovereign State without justification or provocation and killed many civilians, doubt he'll ever be prosecuted though...
MarineBob · 56-60, M
I thought Ukraine had armed their civilians
StevetheSleeve · 31-35, M
@MarineBob I believe that’s for resistance if and when Russian forces enter cities. I’m not sure civilians are armed in a way to fight cruise missiles and aerial attacks.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@MarineBob the problem is armed civilians don't really work against rocket barrages.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@MarineBob Yeah, armed with AK47's, fat lot of good that does them against fighter jets, cruise missiles, tanks and artillery barrages though...

No sh*t, Sherlock. Do try to catch on a little quicker.
