There is something wrong with Berlin

ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
Interesting... Maybe rebuilding the East?
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@Madgirl true... But there's also a beating heart to a country
Madgirl · 26-30, F
@ozgirl512 nah... common saying is you either live there or you hate everyone who lives there.. berlin, cologne and all of bavaria are like the worst
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@Madgirl I'll bow to your greater knowledge.. Thanks for explaining why..

This is good for Germany. People are not dependent on the capital. I wish we could have that in the USA.

@SW-User I am not say it's a tech Meccsa. I'm saying that's where companies that rely on government regulations like to headquarter their business. Telcos had more lawyers than software developers.
SW-User
@Northwest I'd say that has more to do with our campaign finance issues than anything else. Kill Citizens United, PACs and other lobbyists.

Didn't Trump do that, as promised?

Berlin was an island city in East Germany before the wall came down so it developed behind the rest of the country for 44 years.

Munich is capital of the richest province and Frankfurt has the financial centre.
Madgirl · 26-30, F
@Burnley123 actually during that time berlin was a precious jewel that was funded with all the money to show the poor people in the east how great capitalism is...

but that funding stopped after the unification and suddenly Berlin was like... we got nothing here on our own.

@Madgirl Its surrounded by East Germany and massively cut off from the major industrial areas.

I would love to see where Spain would be without Barcelona.
I am surprised the UK is not more dependent on London.
Berlin is a special case, the historic capital returned despite being in the least developed part of the country.
Interesting post.

This is economically a good thing for Germany.
vetguy1991 · 51-55, M
It's holding Germany back?
Human1000 · M
I went to Berlin before the wall came down. Freaky to be there.
monte3 · 70-79, M
@Human1000 I can imagine!
