Because the truth is, Trump wanted that riot to happen, whether it was intentional or not (I believe it was).
Look no further than to Trump's actions when he was first told rioters had stormed the Capitol Building - did he call for calm, to desist from violence, that the protest should be peaceful?
Nope - he immediately tweeted that Mike Pence was a coward who couldn't protect the country or constitution.
This was to 1) threaten Mike Pence, and 2) cause enough chaos that the House/Senate wouldn't be able to officiate Biden's presidency.
Both futile of course, but it showed Trump's true character.
