So Kevin McCarthy goes to suck up to Trump and when he comes back he

has decided on the five Republican members he wants appointed to the House select committee to investigate the January 6 attack, among them Jim Banks, Jim Jordan, and Troy Nehls, all voted to overturn the results of the Electoral College just before the attack began. All obstructionists. Jim Banks immediately blamed Nancy Pelosi for the riots. Has this gone beyond stupid, beyond corrupt and dangerous. Now the republicans will spend months obstructing the committee so the public will never find out who organized these people to attack the Government of the United States.

To be fair, we've got true believers on our side, too. And though the facts are clear, if argument is all we going to get I say disband the whole damn thing.

What are we even investigating at this point? Reality? It's unchangeable.

@Graylight We still need to establish which Republican congressmen, congresswomen, and Senators assisted with the attempted coup, and exactly how. Did Republicans provide private tours to the Capitol that helped once the police lines were breached? How long did Trump refuse to call off his Cult once the violence was underway? What did McCarthy ask Trump by phone and what was his response? I believe we need a full picture of how close we came to a Trump Kingdom and who enabled it?

@windinhishair Do we need to know this, though, when our society has completely done away with accountability?

We have months to hear 'did too/did not' followed by 'we won/we won' . But no one will have paid a price but the common voter and taxpayer.

@Graylight Yes, we absolutely need to know the truth. If not for now, then for future generations, so we don't have Confederate descendants saying in another 150 years that the Civil War wasn't about slavery, and Trump won the election. The Republicans who sold out democracy need to be named, shamed, and blamed.

@windinhishair I get it. But I'm willing to bet we end this with no named conspirator being definitively found guilty and certainly no consequence.

Justice inquiries should be left to the wise and uncompromised, and these days I'd be hard-pressed to name someone.

@Graylight We shall see. At the very least, we'll see some of the criminals testifying under oath without a President Trump to pardon them for their lies.
@windinhishair On Tuesday morning, billionaire Thomas Barrack, one of Trump’s closest friends, was arrested in the Los Angeles area and charged with violating foreign-lobbying laws, making false statements, and obstructing justice. One more person to squeeze the truth out of.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Pitchblue I hope so. But there are lots of his criminal friends who will lie under oath to protect him.
@windinhishair How many of Trump's inner circle have been arrested? 20, 30, and then his whole company is indicted plus, Fraud University, Trump Foundation and now the Inauguration funds. Wow was that admin corrupt. I think Thomas Barrack was involved in the inauguration so that brings Ivanka back into the picture again. This guy might be able to flip on Ivanka.

@Pitchblue I hope every last one of them that has committed crimes is arrested and charged.
@windinhishair All they need is one of the bias Judges McConnell installed and, All Charged Dropped. The abuse of Power is just insane.
