Hypocrisy, thy name is GOP

The Fox Daily idiot panel, led by Kayleigh Mcenany (who suggested recently that the founding fathers knew slavery was wrong and hated it), is busy mocking the Texas Democrats who left the state to prevent a vote for having covid because, get this, why didn't they follow all the protocol and do everything right and wear masks and think about others? I guess there are no mirrors over at Fox.

they should be mocked... aren't they the ones preaching to everyone about getting the vaccination? apparently the ones who got covid weren't vaccinated, right? practice what you preach.

they are the hypocrites.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@boudinMan The Texas Democrats were all fully vaccinated as was required in advance before the trip. They apparently caught the virus from unvaccinated carriers--likely Texas Republicans. Apparently you can do your best, but can't always overcome the stupidity of others who remain unvaccinated and pose a risk to others.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@windinhishair oh, so what you're saying is the vaccination doesn't really work that well... got it.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@boudinMan The vaccination works extremely well in minimizing symptoms and deaths. Last month, in June 99.2% of the deaths in the nation were people who were unvaccinated. The unvaccinated are spreading the virus to a much smaller number of vaccinated people who have minor symptoms at worst. The vaccine continues to do exactly what it was intended to.
Baremine · 70-79, C
@windinhishair not to prevent COVID-19.. that isn't what it is being sold as.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@Baremine what you just said has nothing to do with my statement. if 5 people who were already vaccinated got covid, then that doesn't reflect very well on the efficacy of the vaccination.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Baremine It does a good job of preventing covid, but it isn't perfect. However, the primary benefit is that it prevents poor outcomes and deaths. If Republicans choose to die like lemmings instead of getting the vaccine, that is their choice. It is unfortunate that they will take some of their loved ones and neighbors along with them.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@boudinMan Those people will live and will have minor symptoms at worst. We are at a point where it is turning into a Republican death march, which the vaccine can prevent.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@windinhishair do you have statistics on the political party affiliation of those getting the vaccine?
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@boudinMan Only 6% of Democrats say they aren't going to get the vaccine. That number is 47% of Republicans. The highest vaccination rates are in states with major (Democratic) cities and in Democratic states, with the lower vaccination rates in Republican states. It is sad that the Republicans are accepting death over reality.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@windinhishair it's ridiculous to say they are accepting death over reality. i think they just believe they will survive it... and the vast majority do.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@boudinMan From this point forward, it will obviously be mostly Republicans who die of the preventable coronavirus that has an effective vaccine. Thanks for proving my point that they think they will live, but many will die. Accepting death over the reality of the virus.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@boudinMan Duh. But a much larger majority survive the vaccines, and go on to be protected from the worst covid outcomes. Republicans are being fucking stupid about his, and it’s probably something to do with their media diet.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@QuixoticSoul you really don't like people making their own choices, do you? it really seems to bug you.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@boudinMan If people accept a one in 50 or one in 100 chance of death for themselves, and their children, and their parents and grandparents and other relatives, I guess that is their choice.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@windinhishair Covid cases among the unvaccinated last week: 26306

Breakthrough covid cases: 5100 since vaccinations began and out of 157,000,000 vaccinated people.

To argue against vaccination at this point is ignorantly obstinant.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@boudinMan Are you kidding? Mocking stupid people for their choices is a substantial part of my daily entertainment, and I would hate for my supply to go low.

I love the poorly educated.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@QuixoticSoul then you should enjoy mocking those democrats on the plane to texas just like kayleigh mcenany.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@boudinMan They are vaccinated.

So is she, by the way. Find me one politician urging not to take the vaccine who is not himself or herself vaccinated.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@QuixoticSoul
it’s probably something to do with their media diet.
No shit!
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@boudinMan Why, they did everything right - and are now likely to have an easy time with their covid diagnosis.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@QuixoticSoul then how'd they get covid?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@boudinMan Because you can get covid after being vaccinated, just as you can get covid again after getting it once. This isn’t a lifetime immunity deal. Being vaccinated means you’re less likely to get it - and much less likely to end up in the hospital if you do.

This has been pretty clear early on in the pandemic, since we got news of previously hospitalized folks getting reinfected.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@QuixoticSoul so, they should have been wearing masks on that plane is what you're saying.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@boudinMan They didn’t get it on the plane lmao.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@QuixoticSoul well, then they should have been wearing masks everywhere else. and how do you know one of them wasn't infected and gave it to the others... while on the plane?
