I don't find a lack of interest all that odd, until someone can explain to me how the origin story helps deal with the virus.
I'm a Democrat, and while I don't really have zero interest, finding someone negligent to blame isn't really high on my list of priorities.
Now, to be clear, I'm not saying "move on" and ignore investigating because it might be politically advantageous or disadvantageous, but if we've got a limited number of folks with the know-how to analyze this virus, I'd rather them spend their time fighting the virus as opposed to trying to find a scapegoat to blame for it.
Of course, I do see the political advantages of scapegoating and I expect soon enough, we'll be arguing about how Congress should be spending it's time investigating China instead of the insurrection, so maybe I'm jaded.
@LordShadowfire Sure seems like it over the last couple of years, and this one seems like a classic let's focus on China rather than other issues, popping up conveniently when the focus has been on Jan 6 and legislation.
Not really because the "actual" origin will be debated and a conspiracy theory for over 100 years.
Even if we had full buy in from all Americans, it's probably still a waste of money as we won't be able to find out a thing without China's help and they're covering up.
I'm more interested in why they didn't want to look into the failure of Jan 6th, something we might be able to find out more about as America has control over it.
@spjennifer government never has good leadership because sheeple keep voting the same garbage in and no one is actually looking out for doing things that would actually make a positive impact for we the people! Both demorats and repubicans are looking to advance party control rather than doing anything positive for us! Nothing but talking heads no backbone or balls to do anything positive!
@Ozuye502 Not to be forgotten are the lobby groups, Defense Contractors, Energy companies, Big Pharma and the NRA et al who also have a significant say in what things get done and don't as they supply a lot of the $ for PAC's and essentially finance the campaigns, both sides are guilty of this. 😲
As opposed to actually fighting the virus and trying to make sure Americans are safe and alive? There will be time for recriminations but that time isn't now. Focus on containing it and making sure everyone is vaccinated and we are safe in our own Country first.
So not true and really insignificant in grand scheme of things. The cause and source can easily wait till problem fixed and or contained. Being able to suddenly say ahah it came from a or b isn't going to make covid magically disappear overnight. The ones in power pushing so hard for it to be looked into are either trying to shift blame for something or trying to hide thier own involvement
Faucci ran to CNN after he was exposed where they predictably protected him. He says the American people aren't smart enough to understand him. Well this one sure is and saw through his BS from the start.
Biden orders more intel investigation of COVID-19 origin APNews
The Democrats are interested in the origins of covid - since it's not a political issue in the first place. We're just not hell-bent on it looking for someone to blame.
Tracing the origin of any pathogen is crucial, and science has known that long before politics, but getting a pandemic under control takes a little bit of priority.
@LordShadowfire And you will see as you wish. I try not to be mean here. I prefer to be kind to others and uplifting, finding something good in everyone. Have a great weekend, ok?😊
@cherokeepatti is a highly intelligent being blessed with critical thinking skills, among many others. No White Knighting, I just happen to admire and respect the lady. I always enjoy reading her.
This is nothing against you. I just wanted to shout out to her!😊
@Oster1 I'm not seeing any evidence of it in this post. What I'm seeing are crazy conspiracy theories being legitimized by two crazy conspiracy theorists getting together.
@LordShadowfire In this particular case, given high profile Democrats excusing China (Boxer, Pelosi, Biden, etc.), based upon propaganda from a foreign government, I do think that there is a lack of interest in pursuing the origins of COVID-19. Adversarial groups use the free and open society in the US against us by framing a narrative that is suitable to them; hence, not surprised. Just look at the influence of the Confucius Institute which is used by the Chinese government to help frame narratives about the regime and influencing foreign perceptions of it.

Would it help contain it? Besides, the wet markets are a perfectly reasonable explanation as to how a disease could be transferred from a bat to a human.
@Ozuye502 I'm pretty sure you misspelled hypothesis. And let's talk about the fact that the wet markets in Wuhan were basically a festering petri dish of disease, and something like this was inevitable.
But yeah, I know you'd like to point a finger at someone and yell at them for a while. Seems to be a Republican thing.
@Ozuye502 I just don't see how finding patient zero does any good when it keeps mutating. The latest strains of coronavirus look nothing like the original bat disease.
@Stereoguy they have had Trump around thier fingers for easily 7 or 8. With money the Trump organization owes to not only Russian banks but Chinese banks. Because no American bank will give him time of day due to number of defaulted loans and bankruptcies.
Your claim is false! Joe Biden directed the government to further investigate the origin of Covid-19. Millions of dollars are being spent on the investigation. How much more interest do you want???
