@TryingtoLava Mine, too. A few family members as well. Doesn’t change the fact that many people using it [b]don’t[/b] know its history. It’s like the folks who want to “own” the “n” word. It’s self-defeating and makes no sense. But I imagine my perspective is probably generational.

@bijouxbroussard And it occurs in all cultures. Believe me, Black Irish doesn't mean what many think it does. Each group has its own language and idioms and no outsiders can emulate that perfectly. But words are just that - words. Like everything else, when we get too caught up in their analysis, it's easy to lose sight of the actual issue.

@TryingtoLava And you're free and encouraged to post what you believe and feel. No one was on the attack; it's just that there are multiple sides to every issue and in order to really gain an understanding, they should all be discussed.
