Probably had more to do with density and wealth tbh.
I always thought it had to do with affordability. Santa Monica pays $.50 - 1.00 more than just a few miles away in Pacoima.

I hear what you're saying but the other part of that is demand. More rural areas have less demand which means lower costs. More crowded areas typically have higher taxes because there's more need to turn that money around for things like road repairs.

@Crazywaterspring it's cheaper in Areas where people vote for big oil bought and paid for political candidates and brutally expensive in Areas where big oil companies just can't buy the elections.
