I can see this.
Although Epstein was obviously a predatory monster, and an opportunist, I can't see him being able to be a complete con artist in the way he made his money. There are plenty of people that are mathematical and business savants.
Combine this genius with charm, greed, debauchery, and evil, and you get an Epstein.
