These stats turned out to be exaggerating the problem. It was a genuine feer but thank god I was wrong.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Burnley123 I think they're like just putting anyone that dies who had chest pains and saying its COVID so that doesn't help matters lol. "You died from corona and you and you over there and them over there." It's kind of out of control at this point, it's so obvious we weren't prepared and hopefully, they will take steps to better prepare themselves.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
Yeah, the Western diet has reached all corners of the world and that's why. There was a thing about tribes who never suffered from the same ill-health as Western people (they are more in shape) and they got sick after adopting the American diet as more and more fast-food chains have popped up all over the place.

Unfortunately, we have obesity in the United States as well.
Jm31xxx · 41-45, M
And I heard the high death rate in Italy is due to lots of people smoking. Bad time to be an overweight smoking pensioner
Bagalamaga · 56-60, M
Experts are saying this for months. Im also convinced about China not reporting real numbers
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Bagalamaga What borders we haven't closed ours down, we are STILL accepting flights from Italy, Spain, USA in face most places with NO checks for ANY passengers when they depart!!!
Bagalamaga · 56-60, M
@milkymum1 that’s messed up. You guys must feel like sitting ducks
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Bagalamaga Yes it is completly but sadly not enough of us are, far too many simpletons think what boris and co are doing is right!!!!!

Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Burnley123 I think survived might be a better use of word than 'recovered'.
'Recovered' gives the impression you are no longer at risk.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Picklebobble2 So very true as its been reported people have re-caught it again!!
Ian123 · 61-69, M
That’s if you believe the Chinese figures
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Ian123 I dont always fwiw. They have lower obesity though. South Korea and Taiwan had lower death rates. Than at spain.
Ian123 · 61-69, M
@Burnley123 The largest country in the world and they only had 3000 plus deaths. It seems unlikely
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Ian123 The point is that the death rate is highher than people thought.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
Well maybe this is the wake up call some people needed

Governments have been saying for ages eat 5 veg or fruit aday then put that up to 7 aday

I know In Italy they have quiet an eldery population and that's one reason theirs is so high.

I'm not sure about Spain in that way.

IF it's down also to obbesity then the UK is in trouble
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@quitwhendone A lot of us did too here but somehow the gulible voted on mass
@milkymum1 Yeah, I know. It's disheartening.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@quitwhendone yes complety, and then they will be the ones moaning still, it doesn't make any sense
pentacorn · F
i'm sure the obese are at higher risk, but i'd also be interested in the percentages concerning blood types in that region. some populations are type A dense, and it is posited that people with blood type A are more susceptible to, both, infection and dying from the infection. so many factors. the average age of the population weighs in too.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@pentacorn There are certainly some things that need looking at.

For example, how come some people who are affected have reported it's barely as bad as a bad cold or standard flu, and yet others (who have been reportedly healthy previously) have died from it 🤷‍♂️

What are the actual factors involved.

I honestly think they are just too swamped to bother looking for commonalities just yet.
pentacorn · F
@Quizzical it's a good time to be a research scientist, though. i'm sure this is a great time to get funding! and, like you said, there are some, or many, things that need looking at.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
You know, the more 'theorizing' i hear from so called experts the more i just want to hide in a hole in the ground.

I, like the rest of humanity. Want FACTS.
Scientifically PROVEN EVIDENCED FACTS.

Not more of this know-nothing-theorizing.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Picklebobble2 They've already said about smokers as a lot of them wil have lung or heart problems

but why go fro the red heads!!!!
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@milkymum1
Underlying risk factor
Susceptible to SUNBURN ! 😉
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Picklebobble2 tell me about it the curse of beign a redhead!!
HannahSky · F
Seniors have been very vulnerable in Spain.
curiosi · 61-69, F
Just read that obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes all make it more likely that death will happen.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@curiosi Being alive makes it more likely that death will happen too, lol
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@curiosi well anyone with heart and lung problems, anyone who has alow immune system or is on immune supressent drugs, the elderly but I only heard today about the obisity.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
Well... If that's the case. Watch out America! 😯
pentacorn · F
@QuixoticSoul it's probably the influx of other nearby cultures making Euros look better. ;)
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@QuixoticSoul if these new figures are true in spain, then surely there is a real danger of millions dying in america?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Burnley123 Let's hope not.
