@Recluse Ah, okay. Some people have already made it over the fence by just using a loop of rope wrapped around it and shimmying their way up and then back down.
plus I am pretty sure you can saw steel. and I think a plasma cutter is pretty cheap at harbor freight. that would cut it like butter. wtf are we spending this money for?
The US Congress has not approved money for Trump's wall. Money was approved for the previously border security enhancements. As far as I know, the Mexicans are paying for this new wall, so perhaps this should be a question for the Mexican authorities?
As to the wall "samples", these are private contractors, who paid for it on their own, in the hope of getting $Bs of potential wall contracts. I guess they should have waited for the wall paperwork to go through, before they built samples...
But, yes, the wall is a joke. No one can build an impenetrable wall. What makes it secure, is the electronic countermeasures, but that's what Congress approved money for, under Bush, Obama and Trump.
I dont know what everybody is freaking about - there is already fences / and walls and a hell of a long river - we just need to make the USA not so inviting so the ones that came here illegally will self deport.
@MarmeeMarch Not to worry. When the economy collapses due to Trump's trade wars and inflating deficit, there will be many other places that are much more inviting. In fact, there was net emigration to Mexico during the Bush Great Recession.
