why is there always black on black crime?

TinyViolins · 31-35, M
Most violence is interpersonal, which means that it happens between the people you live with, live near to, or know personally. Because of how segregated America is along the lines of race and class, most crime will occur between groups with overlapping similarities. Black-on-black, white-on-white, etc.

The only reason that black-on-black crime gets mentioned at all is for conservative people to find an excuse to do nothing. It's Birth of a Nation all over again. When you create the belief that black people are inherently violent, it's a convenient scapegoat to continue ignoring their plights, dismissing their pain, and turning a blind eye to the issues they face

@TinyViolins how about actually doing some research and seeing statistics before making dumb political assumptions

How about providing yours before assuming I haven't done mine?

Crime itself tends to be intra-racial. White criminals target whites, black criminals target blacks, Asian criminals, Asians, Hispanic criminals target other Hispanics. For the most part criminals commit crimes in their own neighborhoods. They’re opportunistic.

One reason "black on black" crime is such a buzz phrase is because of anti-black racism and the perception that all black people are criminals. Generally people using the term can’t see any difference between black criminals and law-abiding black citizens.

That’s why in many cases the people are in danger from both the criminals and law enforcement, who also see no difference and take the attitude "they kill each other, anyway." 😞
