She was Smoke
She was Smoke
[i]Burning like so many branches
From a fire lit within
Exhaling all my chances
And filling the air with sin
All the mirrors seeing clearer
I cannot hide what I project
An empty nest burns nearer
And it's just as bright and quick
Like Deja vu, I'm dreaming
Like a sad forgotten song
Yet it fills my soul with meaning
So I've tried to sing along
Sultry whispers; silky breaths
My flames had their imaginings
And shaped her in swirling patterns
Forming memories and things that mattered
Hauntingly familiar thoughts
Calling all of mine distraught
I forgot all those letters I wrote
When I was the fire and she was smoke
