My poem on Solitude….

Just watching the grains of sand through the hourglass drop within the passage of time,
Seeking the peace only solitude can bind, a mind shifting between the present and future within constant rewind.

Reflecting upon memories which make one think and ponder,
As many emotions flood one’s soul so many thoughts forever wander.

Unable to sleep without vast complicated dreams encountered throughout the night,
Tracing the shadows upon the wall, balancing the darkness with the light.

A heart and soul unwilling to pretend,
Depth and substance are my only friends,
Found only through the solitude which can blend and mend.

Solitude and truth go hand in hand,
Walking quietly, something which one can never demand.

Solitude is the one virtue I need to quiet my mind, to keep me walking humbly and to avoid becoming spiritually blind.

The creativity unleashed from being alone in self-reflection, the honesty to realize my imperfection, along with the courage to undertake a real heartfelt introspection.

Finding clarity in new ideas which percolate as I self-navigate, tempting fate as I concentrate,

Wondering if any other human being can possibly relate?
