Would any of you mind going through the physics of how velocity is slowed of a bullet by going through a shoulder blade?

No, not homework, a curiousity.

Their is no way to calculate that without more information.

Type of bullet
Grain of bullet
Distance
Size of shoulder blade
Etc.

Transfer of momentum and friction

MV1 = (M1 + M2)*V after impact

Presume a 45% friction factor of bullet passing through the bone

1 - Is the bullet
2 - Is the body

@questionWeaver Thank you.
@HurtMe Most the slowing of the velocity comes from transfer of momentum

@questionWeaver Thanks again.

When a bullet enters a shoulder blade, part of its energy will be absorbed by the shoulder blade, slowing it down.

{@hurtme] maybe for forensics value yes

@smiler2012 It was just a forensic curiosity that I wondered was simple in math as questionweaver shows. Thanks for the reply.
And two people are shot?
