could i still build my strength up

for a male in my mid 40s, i am quite physically weak compared to other athletic men....but i have a barbell in my apartment...and i go swimming 2 times a week...so was wondering if i can still build up my physical strength doing weights, the barbell- at home and swimming, even at my age?

Yes, it's never too late to get stronger.

Start off at home working on air squats, crunches/sit ups and push ups (modified, negative or regular).
That's the Hershel Walker routine
