Are you familiar with Windows 10?
If you legitimately want to help, please read all of this, instead of skimming, thanks.
What I'm looking for is someone who is intermediately familiar with Windows 10. I got a brand new, 1 TB hard drive for C:\. I did a brand new, fresh first time install to this new hard drive from the Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 CD. I was then able to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.
Everything worked, for a while. Now for some odd reason, my screensaver has stopped working. If I go to preview, it works. But if I set it to 1 minute, or 5 minutes, it never comes on. I do have Malwarebytes Premium, with 4 active shields, and I regularly scan everyday at 7:00pm. So there's nothing on my system that could be causing this.
Now, the only thing that may be changed is, I was able to permanently disable "automatic" updates. No, not installing new updates do not affect how a screensaver works. Even if this computer wasn't hooked up to internet, and I did a fresh Win 10 install from a USB, the screensaver will still work regardless of that fact. And it's the same with XP, 7, Vista, 8, if a fresh install was done with those Operating systems, and they weren't connected to the internet, the screensavers will still work.
I am able to update manually, but I'm not forced to receive automatic updates anymore. So in any event, I'm at a loss, as to why the screensaver no longer comes on automatically. Any help on this is appreciated. And yes, I do know about updates, and how they work, so I don't need to hear about that.
