if your computer crashes and you get the blue error screen, does it cause you to lose any media files?

i am looking for some reassurance, does anyone know this?

my windows 7 desktop computer has been crashing on me for weeks now, when i open a browser like chrome or microsoft edge, it would freeze, and restart or show the blue error screen...i really need to take it to the computer repairs, but i don't have the money right now....anyway, i have lots of media files on my computer and i just want to know that when your computer crashed like that, that it doesn't delete any media files like pictures or video files or music?

i checked my media folders and all the files still look like they are there........so i was hoping for reassurance that such crashes couldn't delete any important media files?

You're good 👍. I've had plenty of blue screen crashes, but I've never had pictures or any other files delete because of a blue screen error.

But as always, the best thing you could do is make sure that the files that are important to you, are backed up to an external hard drive or to a USB flash drive.

Just as a side note, I don't use Microsoft edge. I use Firefox and that's the browser that I trust. Personally I try to stay away from Internet explorer and Microsoft edge. I just believe those two browsers have potential issues with being more prone to attacks with malicious code.

Chrome I believe, is an okay alternative to Firefox temporarily, but I wouldn't personally use it as my everyday browser. Good luck to you sir and god bless.
