I had an old TV and room on the desk and I just ran the HDMI cable into the TV.
No software needed beyond the normal video stuff for any other monitor.
You can also use the "project to another device" thing but I don't have much luck with that.
Also you can add your TV to your computer as a mirrored screen.
That is a windows setting you can get to by right clicking your desktop and going into one of the two graphics options, I don't really remember exactly.
