Would Squirrels Eat Plum Seeds If I Put Them In A Feeder For Them?

I don’t know if they’ll eat the pits. The fruit was very small, I saved the pits just in case they would like to eat them. I have seen a pack rats nest and it was full of plum seeds. But pack rats go around collecting things even things they don’t necessarily want to eat.

Plum pits are a bit large for a squirrel, but perhaps they will take them and chew on them for the fruity flavor.

@4meAndyou they are very small blue plums, about the size of a large cherry, the pits are small too

I just put the seeds in the bird feeder to see if they’ll take them

@cherokeepatti Hah!, Poetic justice, intentionally placing squirrel food in a bird feeder. Pretty sneaky of you, most of us try to figure out how to keep the damn squirrels out of the bird feeders. 🤣

I dont think they can eat them. They like chewing on softer materials and they eat the fruit but not the pit.
