Oh These Parakeets….Sit Down to Dinner & They See Me Eating Salad & Broccoli…

The chirping started…Boo-Boo was saying “Thank you. Right?” Over & Over, Ike piped up “Thanksgiving”….I told Boo-Boo “Baby I gave you fresh greens this morning.”…..
And he tells me “I want it again”. I don’t know where he is picking this up and how he knows it’s the appropriate answer.

@4meAndyou when the babies learn from the adult birds they don’t speak the words very clearly and then I have to talk to them and teach them to speak better, I’ve noticed that.

Had a knock at my door 2 months ago,opened it to find my neighbour Tina with a budgie in a cage,used to be two but neglect caused the death of one.I neverrealised the drama this would cause with Cass,my dog.She is very,very clever,and has made it clear in many ways that she does not approve.It is a battle of wills...

@pedrohedgerow yeah some dogs have an instinct to kill any bird including chickens, like Labrador retrievers. You can’t keep them from bothering chickens and pet birds.

@cherokeepatti She had the chance to kill Squawky,the budgie,when she couldnt fly any more and landed on the floor.It took me several seconds to get between them,but she stayed back.Now though,I feel she may regret it...😕

@UnderLockDown because I’ve had to talk to them about squawking and flapping their wings when we are eating something that they want. Told them to start using their manners again so he says that.
