I sorta assume we're the consciousness of the Universe, it's own little way if understanding itself. I forget who that's attributed to. Alan Watts maybe. 🤷

@coven We was a British author and scholar of Buddhism and Eastern thought. He popularized a lot of Eastern thought, in particular Zen Buddhism, to a Western audience in the West in the 60s and 70s. His most famous book is probably The Way of Zen. I highly recommend it!
He also recorded many of his lectures and those are available on podcasts.

Yes, of the fungi-type, so it's not really all that deep, however it is as wide spread as the cosmos

@SW-User I think H.P. Lovecraft would be giddy about that assessment, if indeed he were capable of giddiness, or indeed positive emotion. 🤪

@KyleRenn He'd definitely dig it...
@SW-User I knew it! 😀

There is a lot of serendipity in some of the universal constants... One thing to keep in mind is that luck can also explain this... We only have one model of life to compare recruiting against do we're bound to make assumptions that may not be valid... As Spock said, it's life Jim but not as we know it!

Right now, there’s an emergence of zombiism

@coven I’m only being half facetious.
I’ve not believed in deities for a long time. However, I do believe that we are united in a consciousness to survive and learn , learn and survive.
This pattern has been disrupted lately by those who would instead encourage the opposite. It’s confusing TBH… but at the same time, it’s completely understandable

No it's run by aliens, and they are morons
A conscious order...
Human1000 · M
No, but one could argue the universe is conscious because it contains sentient beings who are not separate from the universe.
DocSavage · M
No reason to believe it. We can only see a microscopic part of it. And what order we see is what we impose on it.
LordShadowfire · 46-50
I think it's more that the universe is becoming conscious. There isn't a single creator like the Christians believe, but everything is moving toward a self-aware universe, if that makes any sense.
