The way I’ve come to see it, from the patterns that I’ve seen on here and in person, I feel like women that were disciplined effectively into their later teens or even beyond in a way that wasn’t abusive at all wind up being more mature, having better self control, being more temperate, and being more pleasant company

What are your timeouts like? how long, what position, etc.

Well time out can be used so the person thinks about whats going to happen and what did happen after the punishment .

I knew a dominate woman who did it and other punishments.

My dominant wife sends me for “timeout/nap” every weekend after I have completed my morning housework or a group of tasks she has assigned. It’s often used to give her quiet time in the house and not often as punishment. Although it can be used for that too.

I get timeouts from my Goddess wife a few times a month for either less than perfect service or housework or just because she requires silence.

It sounds like an abusive environment if you're over 18. It's not like parents can't have rules if you're still living with them but the relationship dynamics need to change a bit and timeouts should have ended when you stopped being a tween imo.

I am a parent and have never given time outs. You are too old for any kind of punishment. Your parents to take the time to have a conversation with you if they are unhappy with your behaviour.

By now you should know how to avoid being punished. If you could choose, what would you request as an alternate punishment?

I've yet to use timeouts, when I send my kids to their rooms it's usually so I can calm down
