You say it like we're morons for not agreeing to disagree that Tuscan melons taste better than honeydew.
Because Trump isn't just another politician that I disagree with. He's a super corrupt serial criminal and a literal Fascist who is trying to end Democracy in America, while also enabling Qanon and other dangerous conspiracy theories. And because the Republicans are so batshit insane, Trump has become their cult leader.

The worst thing we can do now is normalize people like this. If we have a politician who wants to legalize rape, I'm not going to say, oh well I disagree with him, but I still respect people who like him.

I keep it civil, but the reality is that the way people vote personally effects those I care about and myself. Religion and politics aren’t just awkward conversation topic we agree or disagree on. For people who ‘don’t care/are fine with whatever’ either way, it’s because they have the luxury of not being personally effected by the outcomes, so they don’t understand what the big deal is. It’s only ‘just a difference of opinion’ if they don’t vote or ever aim to influence the vote of others. Even then, the permitting of something (willful inaction) is still enabling the things they allow to go on.
