If you have to lie to get your point across, your point is probably not as valid as you think it is

If your argument requires dishonesty, it's time to reconsider it.

If it's a lie then you don't need to acknowledge it at all.

@ScarletWitch There wasn't one example that prompted this, but I was reflecting on many examples I’ve encountered throughout my life, such as when someone makes an impassioned argument based on a single sensational news story that turns out to be false (and maybe reveals a pattern of false information). They may then say “my point stands”, but often it doesn’t, not without its entire foundation.
