Currently 5 dead, 16 wounded.

John Bacon and Grace Hauck, USA TODAY - 8m ago

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. – Gunfire and chaos shattered a Fourth of July parade in this Chicago suburb Monday as onlookers fled in terror amid reports that multiple people had been shot.

Video from the scene appears to show dozens of people running for cover as music continues to play minutes after the event began at 10 a.m. local time.

Good thing they have them toughest gun laws in the country👍

@Slade
Unfortunately, laws mean little to sick evil turds like him

@Slade Actually Illinois gun control laws are very weak. No gun owner's license is required to buy guns. Nor are photo or fingerprints required. No mandatory gun safety training class is required. Large magazine capacity semi-auto rifles and pistols are easy to buy.

Never a bad time for a mass shooting in the U.S.

Before people start posting stupid comments, this was not gang violence, it was a single gunman and it occurred in an affluent suburb north of Chicago, not in the city of Chicago itself.

They got him.
Caught the bastard in Lake Forest. North Chicago

@DocSavage Now a suburb and surrounding towns can rest easy. It's the next town I worry about.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
isn't Chicago a gun free place
badminton · 61-69, MVIP
@MarineBob Chicago's gun laws are weak and fragmented. And anyone can go across the state line to buy all the guns they want.

FYI - Chicago ranks 10th nation wide in gun killings. New Orleans is first.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@MarineBob It's not Chicago, fool. Nor is there any handgun ban in Chicago.

@Graylight bob's comments are unintentional humor lol
