Can anyone make sense out of this article?

What is a Tesla Bot? What's it for? something to do repetitive tasks. possibly walking and grocery shopping? lol the last part sounds kind of farfetched. but 馃槻 what if it actually did.

Why we should take Elon Musk鈥檚 Tesla Bot seriously

Elon Musk announced a humanoid robot designed to help with those repetitive, boring tasks people hate doing. Musk suggested it could run to the grocery store for you, but presumably it would handle any number of tasks involving manual labor.

Predictably, social media filled with references to a string of dystopian sci-fi movies about robots where everything goes horribly wrong.

As troubling as the robot futures in movies like I, Robot, The Terminator, and others are, it鈥檚 the underlying technologies of real humanoid robots鈥攁nd the intent behind them鈥攖hat should be cause for concern.

Musk鈥檚 robot is being developed by Tesla. It鈥檚 a seeming departure from the company鈥檚 car-making business, until you consider that Tesla isn鈥檛 a typical automotive manufacturer. The so-called Tesla Bot is a concept for a sleek, 125-pound humanlike robot that will incorporate Tesla鈥檚 automotive artificial intelligence and autopilot technologies to plan and follow routes, navigate traffic鈥攊n this case, pedestrians鈥攁nd avoid obstacles. People like Elon have been promising basically robotic servants since at least the mid 90s. I am not hopeful.
[@346344,PicturesOfABetterTomorrow] I am imagining the robots would mostly be used in space but I could see them walking around NYC personally lol.
[@1140188,Candie] Elon is all over the place. A couple of years ago he got the idea for basically a prepper bugout truck for his rich elite friends to ride out the apocalypse in. The unveiling was a hilarious fail though.

This is real and it's coming sooner rather than later. My sources tell me to expect a working model in homes within 3 years.
