I Am Affected By the Weather

So far this month, we've had a total of 16 days over 40C with nighttime minimums in the mid 20sC. We use tank water and the tank is on the western side of the house and the water coming out of it is warm. Can't even have a cold shower and this isn't our hottest month lol.

Looking forward to winter.

We had a day here of 41c in NE Victoria last month which is unheard of for Autumn, but now it's summer and it's back to 10 - 12c and cold winds, like winter. It's really crazy.

@SW-User Mmmm, you're making it sound like a good place to be. Food is one of my biggest weaknesses.
SW-User
@Bushranger I gotta say, i love the food here. We have great cafe's and restaurants and they're all so close together. Then there's a huge coffee culture...literately coffee shops and vans open from 5 or 6 am every day all over the place, if you know where to look. Melbourne has it but it's much more spread out. Probably Southbank in Melbourne would be the place to go. I loved Scarborough Beach in Perth though... great restaurants with a sea breeze... can't beat that.

@SW-User just be aware Hobart can have a day or two where it gets into to 40's. But usually the next day it is around 17 or 18
SW-User
Wow! 40 is super hot. We have hot weather here too at the moment. Yesterday was 35 in the shade. And water is always a problem.

@BoobooSnafu We work on the basis of any town with a MacDonalds or KFC is getting too big to go to. If it has both, go around it.
😁 @Bushranger sound policy there👍
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@BoobooSnafu Hasn't let us down yet lol.

Sorry to hear that! I want to apologize to you a few days ago when I ran off to the gym and didn't want to prove anything that day because I was running late. God put it on my heart to apolilogize! I'll get to that q when I have a little more time! Can you forgive me?
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@SW-User You are always welcome to chat with me.

@Bushranger Thanks.

Goodnight😘❤️💕
The heat wave has been really bad and unusually early in some parts of Australia this year - unprecedented according to the BOM.
Where abouts in Oz are you living?

We're on tank water too. It's still drought in the Tweed Valley, Far North Coast, NSW. But we haven't hit the 40ºC temps here yet.

I feel for you.
I remember how hard it is to endure when it gets that hot.
Stay safe! :)
@Bushranger The Bostocks were an old settler family in the Western District of Victoria with many cousins in the Riverina. The same with Mum's family - Whiteheads.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@hartfire There's a Whitehead lives in my town. Not sure where he's from, but I'll ask him next time I see him. I know he's from a farming family and had his own farm for a while. Lovely bloke, too.
@Bushranger The first Whitehead was a William who purchased a third of the Spring Creek Run near Hamilton in 1841. The rest descended from him. Most branches bred like rabbits, but not Mum's. Her dad, Norman Whitehead, who had the Wurroit homestead, was the eldest son of the eldest going all the way back. She was his first and only child; he never knew her because he shot himself in the head six weeks before she was born. I believe it was because his wife, my grandmother, turned out to be a scold and a drunk. For reasons unknown to me, all the other branches of the family were far more functional.

I think I should move there for 3 months!!!
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@iagreed Did have a look. Mostly the 'Ask the Leyland Brothers' videos. Would love to watch their early stuff like the east west crossing. That was a damn good movie. Another couple of goods one, Harry Butler and 'The Bush Tucker Man'.
Gusman · 61-69, M

Gotta get that coal out of the ground though , right ?
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@RodionRomanovitch Hey, how do you expect our filthy rich mining company owners to be able to afford their ridiculously lavish lifestyles. Not to mention the kickbacks to government.

First two days of summer here in Melbourne and it feels like winter still. What the fuck lol
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Bushranger The food in Melbourne is totally great, it's like a mini-NYC, similar density of deliciousness.

When it comes down to it, I like living in the country, but I love making city money 🤷‍♂️
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul I can dig that. I used to live in Sydney, but was lucky enough to score a couple of good jobs down here and even got to retire early. But, damn, I still miss the food lol.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul Mind you, though, for food, I prefer SA. Even in really out of the way places the food is great. Even a place like Andamooka has good food. Just wish that Wagga could get its act together.
Gusman · 61-69, M
Temperatures here in Perth have been very mild so far.
Tuesday is tipped to be 38 but that put aside, there was one day last month that reached over 30 degrees.
Have not needed my NEW Air Conditioners so far😄
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
Yeesh. That is miserable man. I can't handle that kind of warm weather. xD
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@thepreposterouspanda Do you get a lot of humidity there? The only saving grace here is that it's pretty dry.
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
@Bushranger Yes, most definitely. The summers are muggy and disgusting. xD
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@thepreposterouspanda Bummer. That's one of the reasons we were glad to get out of Sydney, get away from the humidity.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
Here the snow is half a metre deep and the temperature is about -8 C. I'll have to take a shovel with me just to collect the post from my post box which is only 4 m from my front door.

@nowic2 What about moving to Maatsuyker Island.. i think i'd like it there, although i don't think there's wifi.
nowic2 · 61-69, M
@Bushranger oh definitely, despite it getting a little warmer & busier it's a great place to live & easy to get around.
nowic2 · 61-69, M
@SW-User I'm not a recluse though. Maatsuyker is a little too extreme for me.
