Things take a bit longer to catch on here in the colonies( Australia)
The same "Spaghetti tree" story was run by a local journalist in 1967, again on April Fools Day, with similar results to in UK with much viewer enquiry.
Just as well it was before modern social media so the story could be borrowed and unleashed on another ( naive) unsuspecting audience
