What’s your favourite tree? 🌲 🌳 [I Hug Trees]

summersong · F
Just one?! Ugh.

Coastal sequoia. Or white birch. Or oak. Just about any kind of palm tree. Aspens. Hawthorns. I’m a tree whore lol
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
@summersong Hawthorns are lovely in the winter.
SW-User
@summersong trees are worth it
my fig tree in the backyard. nothing better than fresh figs
SW-User
@saragoodtimes I’m weird..I prefer my figs dried
@SW-User for Thanksgiving we have to have dried figs. fresh are best in summer and early fall
LucyFuhr · 56-60, F
Weeping Willow

SW-User
@LucyFuhr I love them too
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@LucyFuhr Stole my answer! The willow knows what the storm does not, the power to endure harm outlives the power to inflict it
My favourite are the conifers - pine, fir, cedars, redwoods, junipers, cypresses, hemlocks, etc. 🥸
@SW-User
SW-User
@DrScissorhands glad you got your ears back anyway
Yes but they’re not meant for you to grab onto. Just sayin’ 😩@SW-User
Spokeskitties75 · 46-50, M
Everyone better say Sugar Maple!! Come on people… Maple syrup is da bomb 💣
SW-User
@Spokeskitties75 no peer pressure !!
Spokeskitties75 · 46-50, M
@SW-User merely a strong suggestion 🙃
SW-User
Repete · 61-69, M
The money tree would be good if I could find onebut until then I guess I’ll just have to visit the Dollar Tree when I need something.
SW-User
@Repete yes! 😅
lovelychicadee · 41-45, F
Have to go with a classic big old maple tree 💚
SW-User
exexec · 61-69, C
Live oak. We have a big one that covers our front yard.
SW-User
Nice! @exexec
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
So many choices. Giant redwoods are complete ecosystems of their own. Apple trees have wonderful, gnarled shapes. But I think olive trees are exceptionally beautiful and fascinating, especially as they age.
SW-User
@Harmonium1923 yeah..the trunks are lovely to see
SW-User
My fave tree is the Agathis australis or Kauri tree, as it's known here in New Zealand. I don't have a pic of one but I want to share this pic I took early last autumn. Nice.

SW-User
@SW-User lovely trees thank you!
SW-User
It's a toss up between the white birch (almost extint around here now) and the magnolia. I get really sentimental about pines and spruces too.
SW-User
@SW-User magnolias are a favourite of mine..they drop too quickly though it’s sort of heartbreaking
Coisty · 51-55, M
Magic Tree would be the smart arse answer

Conker would be the real one
SW-User
@Coisty haha! I call them conker trees too..get corrected all the time by my mother
Coisty · 51-55, M
@SW-User They'll always be conker trees to me
SW-User
Like them all watched tops of trees and just trees more than a few times tripping when young..
0Matthew0 · M
Pine for smell and looks. But probably Pecan because pecans taste good.
SW-User
@0Matthew0 they do indeed!
Coldplay · 56-60, M
Never had a fig
SW-User
@Coldplay this is terrible news 😰
Coldplay · 56-60, M
@SW-User now I’m curious
SW-User
@Coldplay get down to the fig shop pronto.
The one that provides a shady canopy from the sweltering 🌞
SW-User
@checkoutanytime they’re good umbrellas

LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
@LunarOrbit They’re fantastic. Incredibly tall and straight. Used for masts in old sailing ships.
LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
@Harmonium1923 Majestic. See them standing above everything else in a forest.
SW-User
@LunarOrbit beautiful
Bushranger · 70-79, M
Eucalyptus salmonophloia.

NewBeginnings7790 · 41-45, F
Angel Oak Tree

Just one?

My specific single favourite is the bramley apple tree in my parents house that I used to climb as a kid and then watched my kids also climb.

Favourite tree genus......cherry blossoms, frangipanis, magnolia, horse chestnut...I could go on and on
SW-User
@InOtterWords ah that’s so wonderful to see them enjoy the same garden. Magic
