Today we encountered our first Exmoor ponies. These are wild horses descended from stock that first roamed these parts 50,000 years ago. Their grazing is critical to the local ecosystem in keeping gorse and heather under control. We came across a herd of about thirteen and they were placid enough in the heat to allow our herd to come quite close. 9 yo wants to take one home as a pet, which could prove a flashpoint later in the week.
When we got back, i realised that 5 yo had been wearing her pyjamas out walking 🤦♀️ Small children's clothes and pyjamas all look the same to me. If she keeps going through clothes at the rate she has been, pyjamas are all she will have left to wear at the end of the week 🤷♀️
