People like to murder trees

...and people stand by and watch it happen and do nothing.....

And here we are in a global climate crisis and losing our green spaces

And no one gives a fuck about future generations

Fuck people, i'd rather be in a forest then in a crowd

It's not all people, it's never just people.
It's always the people in power.

Look at nestle for an example. How tf is anyone supposed to boycott nestle when nestle is the only corp supplying a store? The onus lies on the governments of the world, not on the people.
GermanAf · 26-30, M
@InOtterWords people certainly do suck, but the general public, as an entity, isn't the problem. The problem is that the system keeps rewarding liars and cheats.

I can't blame people for living in a system beyond their control. The only way to break the system is to remove yourself from it. And that is a sacrifice most people are not willing to make.
@GermanAf i don't know

Something could have been done a year ago but no-one got behind me when i tried. People that called themselves friends did not mention what happened....and now it is happening again in their green space and they are up in arms.

I know i am being specific when you don't know the details. I get your point i am just angry and upset with people in power but also the shit inertia of people who just let things happen.
GermanAf · 26-30, M
@InOtterWords ha, i know that feeling 😅

If I've learned one thing in my 24 year tenure as an alive person it's that i can't expect anything from anyone. People will always prioritize themselves, even if it is by proxy

It's especially bad here in the states. Suburbia is the worst thing that's ever happened to this country.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@BlueVeins Nah. America just sucks at city/infrastructure planning and the like.

The worst thing that happened to the US, besides Americans (because they perpetuate dysfunction), is the two party duopoly.

Most issues can be traced back to that.

Should have listened to Washington.

There are more trees in the world than there's ever been without human intervention
Lostpoet · M
@InOtterWords It was just from a header on Google i don't think it gave a source. I'll read up on Wikipedia and learn more about tree's and their increasing or decreasing on earth. I get back to you if i learn anything worthwhile.
@Lostpoet here is a hint....there is so much fake news and misinformation
Lostpoet · M
@InOtterWords Wikipedia is a good reference site though
The tree slaughter along our local roads and highways really bothers me..
They cut down every single tree within 20 or 30 feet of the highways for miles and miles.. all to keep a couple of branches from blocking a lane every once in a while during a storm..
@Onestarlitnight here a garden centre cut trees down to increase their car park.

The irony
Same.

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Last summer I bicycled past a new development where they were taking down a lot of huge old trees. I was surprised how upsetting I found it.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@Harmonium1923 my bf is the same way. He got insanely angry when our neighbors at our old place cut down the lemon tree that had bordered the fenceline for generations.
Would we be so cavalier about cutting trees down if they screamed? Unless they screamed all the time for no reason.
@LeopoldBloom no one would care

If you fuck people, you might increase the numbers in the crowd.
@LizOwen thank you for your input
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@LizOwen If we nuke people, problem solved.
LizOwen · 41-45, F
@GeistInTheMachine Nuking people will also nuke the natural environment. Wars are pretty destructive things - as are motor vehicles, aircraft and most factories.
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
I care a lot. Just not sure what to do at this point.

The deforestation around here feels like it has picked up the pace exponentially. :(
Doomflower · 36-40, M
I care so much about future generations I am an antinatalist.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
Let it happen so humanity dies faster. Win.
caesar7 · 61-69, M
I agree with your views 110%. People just look the other way and don't really care, or pretend to care. They live in the here and now...selfishness is another word to describe it. They don't care about the future of their offspring in that respect!!! Issues like these really piss me off also.
