If people picked/ combed the wilderness for debris/fire wood, would wild fires be as prevalent as they currently are?

Neoerectus · M
Actually nature needs that stuff to decompose for a healthy forest ecosystem. Fungi breaks it down, along with insects, my cro flora/ fauna etc. Nutrients get recycled, lock up Carbon, pass along nutrients via fungal highways and into roots. Very complex interc connections. Highly recommend forest ecology course... Fun stuff.
@Neoerectus it's a union.
That’s the problem..
The greenies have locked up all the land.. campers and nature enthusiasts used to burn all the dead wood in cam fires.. wild horses made fire breaks..

Now it’s a powder keg every year..
And the fuvking greenies and media don’t waste a second to blame climate change..
Last year 200 greenie activists were caught lighting fires while the media simultaneously blamed climate change.🇦🇺
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout the only thing faker than climate change is Obama's birth certificate LOL

True - they are both real.

Wild fires are caused by climate change tho 🤔

{@checkoutanytime] yes it may help as long it was legalised and no damage was done to any standing trees . maybe scrub that would be more probmatic for wildfires and the creatures that must perish in the fire due to human clumsy or laziness

I guess you have to know how many are started by people with no idea what they’re doing or the risk they’re taking vs natural events caused by lightning strike.

nope

most sensible counties clean/maintain rideaways & routinely perform controlled burns to prevent wildfires. Eliminating out of control undergrowth is actually better for forests in the long run.
uncontrolled brush fires are unheard of here, and usually only occur on federal/state park land (who are also bunch of greenie morons don't manage undergrowth) and/or as a result of arson.

places like california on the other hand have practically no land management... and the results speak for themselves...

City people will need to get peer review before they conclude that less kindling on the ground might help prevent forest fires. 🤓

Maybe worse.

Don't mess w/the wooded regions, keep its integrity.

No clumbsy, filth filled hominids please.

Possibly, and controlled burnings do a lot of good in reducing the intensity of wild fires
