Im seeing far less birds on my bird feeders this winter

My home lies within a 500 acre wildlife management area and normally the birds are outside my window by the dozen throughout the day. This year I'm seeing less than half the norm for this time of year.

It's worrisome.

I live in the middle of Denver and we used to have lots of birds around here. Now all we have are pigeons.

For some reason the mockingbirds didn’t go south this winter. I heard one singing in the tree next to my bedroom window a few weeks ago. And there were birds last January mating and laying eggs. This past year has been so weird including wild birds.

Yes I've been feeding birds for many years in my backyard and have noticed huge changes in the bird population. It's very sad. I just assume it's due to climate change and the difficulty surviving in the reality we've created..
@SW-User Also the glysophates are killing them...its in the weed killer and pest killer sprays

Its what's destroying the bees too
@Elevatorpitches putting animal life into extinction for the sake of having a weed free lawn 😖
@robingoodfellow all that stuff is still on the top shelves in the hardware stores and Lowes etc

They have not gotten the message and most people don't look at research, no time

I talk to them when I can but they are not good at listening. RETAIL SUX

Organized calls and letters to the manufacturers will help.
The world's songbirds are disappearing...too

I have noticed the same thing around here. The local water fowl seem to be doing okay, but songbirds and migratory birds are scarce.

I have less variety of bird species visiting too.
@TheConstantGardener it's very disturbing that I'm hearing from so many people with this same observation
