It's really boring to buy pumpkins at Walmart and Home Depot

But I can't afford the crazy prices at the farms anymore.
I know these farms are just trying to make a living but 25 -30 dollars for a good size one isn't doable when you need a lot.
Last year I grew them myself but the drought this year made it impossible.
Can't have fall without the pumpkins and Jack O'Lanterns! 🎃

I went to Aldi yesterday and bought a 13-pound pumpkin for $3.49. Probably half the price of other stores and they still have a lot of them here for sale. I don’t know why people bother to buy them at Walmart.

Wow I didn’t realize they were selling farm pumpkins for that much $. Is this a place that has a little tour and a few activities or is that just for a pumpkin?

@robingoodfellow pumpkin pies, pumpkin muffins…. I’ve had Seven Vegetable couscous with pumpkin as one of the vegetables. They sell it in markets in Morocco and other places and just lop off however much is asked for and sell by weight

@robingoodfellow Pumpkin bread too. I could make 4 loaves and freeze it in ziplock freezer bags and just slice off what we want each time we have it. Also pumpkin butter is very good, think I can make that in the Crock pot.

Instead of pumpkins these day's I usually buy a handful of corn husks and mini, multi-colored gourds for a fall table center piece.

Couple of years ago, I gathered a bunch of tree branches. I was feeling ambitious, you see, and I wanted to whittle them to points and impale unhappy jack-o'-lantern heads on them.

I petered out when I realized how hard it is to sharpen a spear.
