It certainly is.
Seeing it now, it's hard to imagine the Forest of Dean's industrial past as a coal and iron-ore mining area.
Sometimes I visit the North-West of England, and returning home in the South-West occasionally use the A49 rather than the motorways. So through a lot of lovely, and very varied, countryside including the fringe of the Forest of Dean and the option of the twisty but impressive road down the Wye Gorge to Chepstow and the first Severn Bridge.

Just wow.

It certainly is. You can’t imagine that it was once the heart of a major coal and iron industry. There’s a very pleasant short steam Heritage Railway there as well. Great shot. Is that a drone shot or from the top of the rock at Symonds Yat?
