Why do all American recipes appear to have cans cream of chicken soup as an ingredient?

i hate american recipies... cut this cup bullshit... you dont measure matter in volume but in mass...

Because it’s condensed seasoning . I don’t use cream of chicken, but I will brown a roast , toss it in an oven bag with potatoes, onions , and carrots and 2 cans of cream of celery soup and a can and a half of water and tie the bag closed and toss it in the oven ( in a dish) . The roast is amazing and the “ gravy “ is good . 🤷🏻‍♀️

You must be looking up midwestern hot dish recipes. I don't typically use canned soup, even when I'm making casseroles, I've found mashed cauliflower is a healthier substitute. but making your own rue and flavoring it to what you need isn't difficult either.

Not all do. I don’t buy that stuff. It was really popular 2-5 decades ago as a casserole ingredient.
