Kate Bush. Open discussion.

...she is one of my favorite vocalists along with Annie Haslam from Renaissance. Open discussions about Kate, her re-emerging success to number one with Running up That Hill etc.... Love to know what you think of her! :)

who the fuck is kate bush?
caesar7 · 61-69, M
@RupertCornelius Whether you are being sarcastic or not, I don't know but there are plenty of videos on YouTube.
senghenydd · M
I've always liked Kate Bush fantastic voice Running Up That Hill is a great track, I'm not surprised it's back at number one, what does surprise me is I listen a lot to radio when I'm driving and as Running Up That Hill is back at the top of the charts the radio shows aren't playing it, surely if it's popular and it is they should go with the flow this is not the case.

I enjoy her music

Never liked her stuff back in the day but listening today it’s all brilliant, it’s funny how your tastes change over the years
caesar7 · 61-69, M
@Barny52 That is so true.

Babooska!
That was so different. Her voice, the music.
Way more interesting then the usual songs that were played all the time and still played today.

I always liked her, though some of her stuff was a bit screechy for me.

Here are a couple of favourites, one with Peter Gabriel.

@SW-User Oh, I totally forgot about Don't give up. 😳 I used to listen to it when I was 10-11.

I discovered her on SNL in the 70s. Rolling the Ball.. It was so strange it fascinated me.

She has always beenone of my favorites

Kate Bush never fell off my Radar - I probably listened to "The Whole Story" which is a great comp album at least 5000 times. Great music is accessible for all, it's just a matter of when.

I haven't listened to Haslam in a while - I think the last thing I remember was her singing with Genesis...

I didn't know of her until I heard Running up the Hill as a soundtrack. I absolutely love the song. I am sure she is amazing.
caesar7 · 61-69, M
@SW-User She was and is. Of course, she is from my generation mostly but her style of music appeals to anyone regardless of age.
Lions · 61-69, F
Her new song is so beautiful and I was listening to it and wondering how come I didn't hear her name before, so I'm guessing it's my bad 😣
Jungleman · M
i was never into her music, or saw the appeal in it, not saying she isn't talented but i never saw the appeal in her songs.
Morrigan · F
I love Kate Bush! I still remember the first time i heard her unique voice.
caesar7 · 61-69, M
@Morrigan She is unique. She is very talented as is Annie Haslam of Renaissance. Those two are my faves.

I don't understand why I never heard her when I was younger.

Was her music not played on radio a lot? I listened to tbe radio mostly..i only got tapes during birthdays and Xmas and if i asked specifically.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
Never dug deep into her music, but love the quality of her voice..no one sounds like her.
caesar7 · 61-69, M
@Fukfacewillie True. You know it is Kate when she sings. When I first heard the song "Don't Give Up" from Peter Gabriel and the female voice section came along, I immediately knew it was Kate and checked the credits. Sure enough it was her. She is unique.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@caesar7 That’s when I first heard her! Does some of her music suffer from being too 80s? Maybe dated in how it’s produced?
