How many people have any idea what the Piña Colada Song is actually about?

I only learned what it was about maybe 5 years ago. It's literally about a guy looking to cheat on his wife, who goes through the personal ads in the paper, find an ad he likes, and replies to it, only to find out that the ad was placed by his wife, who was also looking to cheat. They laugh about it and go home together.

Yes its pretty silly. What makes me laugh is that they don't know these things about each other like drinking pina coladas and being caught in the rain. They never knew these things about each other? Aren't these guys married? I know what my wife likes more than she does for fucksake.

@LordShadowfire Ah I see that makes a lot more sense now that I hear the backstory. I don’t remember when I first noticed the subject but I’m a lyrics focused listener usually. It’s a fun song too 😊☺️

@SW-User I guess so. They have a good laugh about the fact that they learned something new about each other, and that's where the song ends. And people think it's just some shallow feel good song about getting drunk on the beach.
