I Love Music

My David Bowie is not the one who starred in labyrinth or who made songs like heroes lets dance and all his other hits
My David Bowie is the one who taught me it was ok to be who i am the one who taught me to have a laugh the one who taught me to say what i like and when i like
My David Bowie will always be my number 1 Hero
Heres why
The first time i saw David Bowie was when he was singing Starman on totps and the line i had to phone someone so i picked on you and pointed his finger at the camera i could swear blind he was picking on me lol
That moment stuck in my mind for many years and after discovering Ziggy Stardust, Hunky Dory ,Aladdin Sane, The Man Who Sold The World, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station To Station, Low. Heroes, Lodger,
all those 70s albums are just brilliant nothing and no one will ever be better than David Bowies music
Now apart from scary monsters the 80s was"nt the best you will ever hear from David Bowie

November 2015 i hear through the grapevine david is releasing Blackstar to coincide with his 69th birthday.
And i was excited at the news blackstar single and video had been released as soon as i saw it i immediately saw he had put major tom to rest
He had always left him in his capsule floating around space i thought that is brilliant and has you dig deeper into the video of blackstar you will also see the thin white duke who also appears in his last song LAZARUS
Watching Lazarus for the first time i though to myself is david trying to tell us hes leaving us ?

For some unknown reason i had to listen to width of a circle my own personal favourite Bowie song which wasnt a hit
Mind you all of david bowie"s best songs werent hits
I had to watch lazarus again i knew something was wrong i wasnt well and went to bed
in the early hours of january11th 2016 i was in hospital and the sad news came on the tv David Bowie had died
I burst into tears
How can my hero die ? i was decoding his brand new album the nurse thought i was crying because of the injection i had just been given lol :)
His passing felt all my childhood had died too he was my only friend through teenage nights
I will always be His number 1 fan
I own everything hes ever brought out i owe him everything he owes me nothing
David Bowie the man who really fell to earth
The man who made me laugh
The man whos music was always there for me
The man with a good heart
The man who rocked my world
The man i will always love and miss
In closing id just like to say
Thank you Starman you will always be my hero
God ive got tears again now
Thanks for reading this story if you did

My David Bowie was a fanned glimpse (like watching playing cards being fanned through a deck) to construct a motion picture through the paper's bend, as each one lands on a pivtol moment that exemplifies that time in my life.

My real stand outs started coming back in early to mid 80's where I found my "Self," changing and and being influenced by so many images. David's style & tone was like: Sinatra meets James Earl Jones.

I have always looked at David like, this ever changing Caterpillar, who's transformations were always leaps ahead of his time.

@Iwillwait 🙂👍 David's music will live forever

The Beatles were great (collectively, David Bowie by himself blew them away
TJNewton · M
@GovanDUNNY Absolutely agree 👍

I love this post so much!
Bowie was powerful for me as well, but you are definitely his number one fan.
TJNewton · M
@rottenrobi Well that's debatable. As far as i'm concerned Bowie lives forever:)

@TJNewton Yes, of course. :)

This is beautiful. And David Bowie was one of the people who taught me it is OK to be who I am, too.

I’m a huge David Bowie fan too. I was first introduced to him as a young girl watching Labyrinth because my mom had the anniversary edition on DVD. I played it back to back to back everyday after school because I LOVED to hear David sing. When I was older and figured out how to work a computer I discovered all his other songs and was able to watch him in interviews and concerts and learn more about his life and contributions to soceity. I grew to like him as a person as well.

I can recall that about 3 days before the news announced that he died, I had this random thought pop into my head... “what if David dies before I get a chance to meet him?” On the day that he died I felt unsually sad and started crying long before my mom came in and told me that he died. I tend to do this all the time before finding out someone close to me died. I never met Bowie, but he felt close to my heart. What I loved most about him was that he was not afraid to be who he was or stand up for what he believed in no matter if the rest of society agreed or disagreed.

@DaughterOfTheDust R.I.P David Bowie 🙂
Aww I think I have the strangest hero ever. I really would be devastated if i had to hear something has happened to Pink. I already had to go through one hero dying when i was a teenager. Yes my other was Jackie Kennedy. It's a strange mix I'm well aware!

I found this so close to my own experiences and feelings for The Thin White Duke.He was there with me too,helping me through my teens and shynessI will never forget my mum coming into the room while Bowie was singing "I"ve got eyes in my backside" from you know where,and saying "Well,that"s charming,isn"t it!"
Good bless,my friend!

@pedrohedgerow The thin white duke re-emerges in his last song Lazarus

So sad 🙂

I understand "Width of a Circle",it is not of this world,immaculate 😉
TJNewton · M
@pedrohedgerow I ran across a monster who was sleeping by a tree and i looked and found that the monster was me 🙂

I can never imagine a world without david bowie
I'm not sure we ever get over people like that. It's strange how people we've never even met become such a huge part of our lives. My entire family thinks i should seek therapy for liking pink as much as i do. They have no idea how accurate they would be if something happened to her.

Well we all need a hero in our lives other than friends family i think back to when i was at scholl 76-81 i was the only bowie fan there i always felt alone then i saved up enough money from my meagre wages and went to see him live in 1983 and all of a sudden theres another 120.000 bowie fans at the same concert i was no longer alone in this world
Never mind what other people think of you for liking pink its awesome that you have her in your life and never change for any one :)
TJNewton · M
Thanks for reading CMHNR I still find his passing very hard to take for obvious reasons My hero was and still is the best singer songwriter of all time his music takes me to places no one else could ever imagine
