Ahem.....they came out in the mid '70's, but yes, they were fantastic. The sisters had a little falling out....and then a bit of issue about how to take Heart forward...
Ann wants to push forward, Nancy is happy to celebrate what they had, and to that end has a new vocalist to go out and tour with. That, however doesn't mean they've split up, just that they can't decide how to take Heart forward whilst Nance wants to just tour...
But, yep, their self-titled 1985 album - 'Heart' - is still a regular player on my stereo. Ann's vocals? THE best singer, full stop, of any genre.

@Jungleman Ooooh, No! I'm a firm believer in that for any artist or act to remain VALID they need to create. Musicians are artists, after all, and artists create new stuff. The easy way is to harp on the old stuff - gold in old, etc - but the best thing is when an artist is performing something fresh, something new.....the enthusiasm that they give off.
Iron Maiden did a whole tour of their 'A Matter Of Life And Death' album, playing only some old stuff for the encore. The result? Some moaning old fans that saw the tour and wanted just the old stuff.....and some new fans made. It kicked their standing in the music world off as a 'still going concern' and they're bigger and better than they were in their 80's heyday.
I'm with Ann...as long as they do some old stuff too!

Likewise. At the Texas summer festival at the Cotton Bowl.
You probably know this, their father was the main song writer and musician for the Beach Boys. He did the recordings to but never went on tour with the band. I believe it was Mike Love that did the vocals for the band on tour. I saw them when the song " Good Vibrations" was just released. I was in seventh grade and chaperoned. Trivial trivia huh y'all
