caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@Iwillwait I've been very influenced by my parents, who played this stuff all the time. They had a lot of CDs

@SweetMae I remember that one
QueenOfTheNerds · 41-45, F
There really are quite a few for me.
This one really stands out, though. I remember the night I sat at my Dad’s workbench in the garage while he was working on stuff. This song came on the radio, and for some reason, it just cemented that moment in my memory.

I loved her back in the 80s when I was a kid. I thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world and coolest. Now I don’t really think that about her. @Spoiledbrat

@akindheart

Lucky you :)

I was no longer a child when the Beatles came along. My first notice of them was in the later 60s, the French version of Michelle ...

When my dad wasn't listening to news radio they'd always listen to oldies 94.1[media=https://youtu.be/W_pnjBxAJ1o]
Heartlander · 80-89, M
This may have been a big Hank Williams hit in the 1950s ... but was a HUGE hit in the South Louisiana bayou country.

[media=https://youtu.be/xnKOVPXhlnE]

But before that, Hank had already planted these words in every country boy's brain :)

I still remember riding with my dad, hot July, windows down, laying on a sack of cool cabbage as we sang our hearts away.

There are so many songs that remind me of my childhood, that I really can't narrow it down to just one. As a child growing up, I always listened to the radio, every morning at breakfast, whether it was on a school day, or on the weekend.
pride49 · 31-35, M

DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Back in the old days of Disneyland of the 1960's there was a gypsy area of fronterland. Underneath a tent there was a performance of this song. I don't know why, the closest roots my family has to Russia is Ukraine in the Odessa area. Yet this song reminds me of both.

Made a post of a far older version of this once with translation...
