You ever have someone say, listen to classical music you'll love it! And it's just sounds like random pounding on a piano?

You ever have someone recommend a song to you and they say it's so moving and it's just some guy screaming?

Just me right?

There are some really wonderful pieces of "classical" music. I remember listening to a young girl playing an accompanied piece on the violin at church, and the music was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes.

Just because music is "classical" doesn't mean you will enjoy ALL of it, just as you probably don't enjoy ALL modern music.

My daughter took orchestra beginning in 5th grade and about a month after classes began she came home and told me she loved classical music. I asked her why and she said “It calms me down”. I bought her a number of classical music tapes so she could listen to them at home. Also found a local classical radio station.@4meAndyou

@cherokeepatti I wish I knew the name of the piece that girl played on the violin. It was sooo beautiful. If I am sitting there tearing up from the beauty, I want to download it.

I've had people telling me I should not listen to the music that appeals to me but listen to their choice because its 'classier'.
I think music is a personal taste and people should mind their own business to what someone listens or not. It should not be forced.

I like to listen to classical music when I’m stressed out. It’s relaxing.

There is a lot of variety in classical music. It was used quite a bit as background music in movies and soap operas. It’s not like all of it is overly dramatic piano pounding noise.
