I Used to Play the Piano
Forgot It All...
I used to play the piano, for a good 5-6 years actually. I don't know why I gave it up. Maybe it was because it was something my parents wanted me to do, and me being the rebellious teen didn't want to do anything they wanted me to do, even if I once loved it. I just wanted to be independent, to do things I wanted and not for their approval. So I quit, and I really do regret it.
I can still semi-read music, but have lost much dexterity in my fingers. And I always had the problem with synchronization, my left hand always wants to go along with my right hand, so I had always found it hard to play something different (chords among other things) with my left hand and the main tempo with my right hand. And it's way too late to unlearn that.
We all make stupid decisions as teens, and this is one of mine. I guess one positive that I can shed on this is that this is one of the dumber decisions I've made in my life, and if this is really one of the worst... I suppose can live with that!
